Day 84

The enchanted organic land.

Thoughts: In my world, if your a true environmentalist you should be aiming to eat 100% raw and 100% organic. I love my earthy healthy friends like Jamie (who is 50 by the way and looks in his 30's and is a rawist!) because we have conversations like this. If the majority did this the whole planet would shift. It means the land is not being destroyed. The factories would go, it forces the system that we are not happy with (environment) into an authentic system that is good for the planet and is good for us. We wouldn't have a degraded environment, no presticies, we would save water, less cows. Each person who buys organic makes a huge difference, because you give the organic farmers power, they would be making more money and then be able to buy the regular farmers land next door and then turn that into organic pesticide free land. Like really there is no use whining about the environment and eating from the sysetm (processed factory foods). It seems much easier to buy organic than going down and protesting. Just eat good food instead...hehe! I'ts better than any law. And its getting out there and getting active. It works instantly...we dont have to wait for some law or some new technology...it's up to us that we buy organicly ....everything I buy organic enchances the land...everything I buy that isn't degrades the land...I make a difference for me and my health and also the planet. Yes I actually do love you and care about you! ....we could literally transform the environment in 5 years. AND if we are all eating organic...we have less toxins in our body and we dont urinate the poisons back into the environment...everyting we consume goes back into the envronment! It's all of us.

Challenges: I'm so obsessed with food and eating. Like really. and by the way I used to think if a jeanie just came up to me and gave me my perfect ideal body then life would be so much better, than I would really do the things I wanted to do, and I would really be happy...but its not true, I totally get now that even if a jeanie came and granted me my ideal perfect body, my inside thoughts would still remain the same and therefore would create the body align to my thoughts, and if i'm thinking fat thoughts I would get fat. And it comes from the philosophy of be, do, have....

Triumphs: I am TAKING ON THE ORGANIC CHALLENGE!!! Purchasing my produce from the organic stores!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Green apple, green tea

Lunch: 4 nectarines, an avocado with lemon. My two favourite foods!

Dinner: Beetroot, celery, carrot, ginger, pineapple juice

Dessert: chocolate balls and walnuts

Snacks: macadamia nuts

Exercise: walking in Sydney

Your shit doesn't have to stink! Hahaaa!

Thoughts: You can stink-less shits? It's qite simple. "Mono eating"! Ever heard of it? Human beings are animals right...and the most indulgent animals on earth. We love to consume and eat, and eat a variety of different flavours and tastes and textures all on one plate at one meal (and nothing good or bad about this). However if you want stink-less poops then consider mono eating...

Mono eating is where you eat one thing at a time. So no fruit salads...it's all about eating simple and eating one thing for example eat an apple and let that digest and then perhaps in an hour eat grapes and then later on eat watermelon...so you are not mixing different foods in your stomach. It's easier for your body to digest just one type of thing. Our bodies work so hard these days to digest the mixture we put in it and uses a lot of vitality and energy. Is this my story? Yes probably. And then I live with JD who eats only raw foods and mostly mono and yes he claims his shit doesn't stink (apologies if you do not like the word shit...it just seems to go so well here in this blog as opposed to poo).

So to gather evidence for my story (hehe)...if your an animal your not going up to 10 different trees to gather different foods to make a salad. No, you go up one tree and eat and it digests by the time you get to the next tree. By mono eating you graze more, which I love because it means I get to eat more throughout the day. We get in touch with ourelves as an animal...because thats what we are...we think we are smart but we are really not, we are animals and dress in clothes and we are dumb, we build nuclear weapoans and bomb the world and kill people. For some reason it's extremely obvious haha

So why does your shit stink? So mono eating for dummies...eat one thing at a time. One food variety. If you feel like a banana eat 3 and later eat something else. You get in touch with your body and what it is craving, and you also eat what is easy to get in season. Our bodies are designed to digest them better because chemisty is simpler. Shit stinks because it's undigested food. The more pure you eat the less your shit stinks. If things are working well your shit doesnt smell. JD my housemate did a poo one day and couldn't smell anything, and so he stuck his head in the toilet bowl "how come it doesnt smell?" . It taught him your shit shouldnt stink. This is peoples experiences, this is what has worked and worked for lots of people around the world...but if you have never tried it...don't sit there and judge it...consider for many years you have learnt things to be a certain way and you have believed that to be true without even trying aything else. If you don't try mono eating then enjoy your stinky shit. Haha!

Challenges: When I think of mono eating I think borrrring...I love lemon on my avocado...and how could I possibly just eat salad without lemon juice and olive oil, and the combination of cocoa and nuts mmm mmmm, and chicken with honey and rosemary. Things just go so well together. However I am willing to implement mono eating into my diet and be less stinky and get in touch with my animal side! Hehe!

Triumphs: I am conscious of eating simple and appreciating the isness of an individual food source and enjoying it fully. MMMM mmm back to basics. Yes I like to imagine I am an indigenous ;)

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Beetroot, ginger, carrot, celery juice. Walnuts.

Lunch: Walnuts, brazil nuts, goji berries.

Dinner: Salad, green lettuce leaves, avocado.

Dessert: Chocolate balls.

Snacks: A green apple. Goji berries. Brazil nuts.

Exercise: Beach run. A run, skip, dance on the beach woooo!

Thoughts: I ate out tonight with some friends. It's the first time I have eaten out for a while. It's weird to eat out. It's weird for me to have food other than what I make. I can definately taste and feel the difference in the food...the love, nutrience. I'm definately enjoying food in god's packaging. The way the earth gave it to us. I had someone comment on one of my blogs "Everything is from the earth!". Yeah like sure everything is made from the earth...it's not like it comes from outer space (or does it!? hehe) I mean uranium is natural from the earth but you don't eat it. In my world what I believe we are suppose to eat as a species is only natural foods from the earth. Why do we pour all tht energy into destoriyng it? The factories, cooking it, adding flavours to things...it's kinda weird...and then again we are a weird species! I look at foods on the shelf now in packages and they look dead....it lasts longer on a shelf so a company can make a profit!

Challenges: Before we went to the Thai Restaurant I was like crap what am I going to eat there that has no additives, chemicals, processed sauces or foods?!

Triumphs: Being able to eat at a restaurant and still stick to the Earth Diet! See it is possible! The chicken however I'm sure wasn't organic free range...anything other than that is fed with growth hormones and anti biotics...

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Walnuts and goji berries

Lunch: A salad of green lettuce leaves and avocado and lemon juice and spinach. A beetroot, carrot, celery and ginger juice.

Dinner: Thai salad with minced chicken and lettuce and lemon juice with garlic and ginger and chilli and mint, great combo....! It's awesome to find "Earth Diet" foods at a restaurant.

Dessert: chocolate balls!

Snacks: green apple.

Exercise: Walking around Sydney

Thoughts: I have been eating for 22 years (I was born 22 years ago)....but have I really been eating??? This article I read below gets me present to how often I eat just because, because I'm bored, to fulfill some emotion, some craving...

I love to eat in silence because eating Consciously is like a prayer for me. Once I went to a silent retreat. It took me a long time to eat my meals because I ate my food Consciously, in quarter-sized bites. Once I released any feelings of urgency around eating and could surrender to the experience, I felt such a high vibration at these meals. I was filled up and the vibration lasted throughout the day. Previously at meals, my mind would have been somewhere else, thinking about something else, and I would have missed this sacred experience. I can go to church or the synagogue once a week or I can experience God within me three times a day in this simple act of eating Consciously.

http://www.goddirect.org/life/writings/november/eating.htm

Challenges: No challenges.

Triumphs: It's great to know that from now until I die I can be present when eating food. My whole thinking of foods and how much I eat and why I eat has shifted. It's not like I just "learnt' this, it's like I am 'remembering" this, because it seems totally natural for human beings to be fully in the moment, every moment, especially when eating, as it's a celebration of the universe supporting ones existence.

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: chocolate balls (great way to start the day! hehe! RECIPE below ) and macadamia nuts

Lunch: a beetroot, celery, ginger, carrot, pineapple juice.

Dinner: a salad with green lettuce leafs, spinach, avocado and lemon and olive oil.

Dessert: No dessert.

Snacks: No snacks.

Recipe: Chocolate balls: (p.s they are so good you will probably want to have them for breakfast too!)

Exercise: running on the beach and a swim in the ocean!

Thoughts: Taking eating to a whole other level...I found this article on the internet...Eating, it is a Divine Experience about the manifestation of the formless into form. The focus shifts from eating to feeling filled physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually with Love/Consciousness.

We take quarter-sized bites to remain in Conscious as we eat, to pay attention. Consciously eating in small bites brings us to a state of mindfulness. This is essential to staying in the present moment. I am Conscious of cutting my food, of placing it in my mouth, of chewing it fully, of savoring the wonderful flavors which are offered to me, of swallowing it, and of it descending down into my stomach and intestines. Consciousness of the full act of eating raises the vibration of the seeming mundane into the sacred. We become aware of the sweet fragrance of the food, have the experience of our taste buds coming alive. We have a sensual experience that is one of the myriad gifts of Being present in the moment. The act of eating, which we paid no attention to the previous day, is now an exquisite act of Grace. Eating mindfully opens our Consciousness to the gift of abundance which is ever-present within us.

http://www.goddirect.org/life/writings/november/eating.htm

Challenges: Being totally aware, conscious and present when I eat EVERYTIME.

Triumphs: Knowing this and putting it into practice so I can enjoy the abundance of eating and hence living.

What I ate today:

Day 79

Thoughts: Eating consciously. Wow I found this beautiful piece on the internet about eating conscious.

God is. God is Love. I am Love. I am God. Everything is God. I bless the food I ingest because it is all God. I bless God within me. I bless God in everything I see, smell, feel, taste, touch, sense. Ingestion of God in full Consciousness creates expansion in my Consciousness at every level of my Being. If I hold the food I eat in the highest vibration, that high vibration is what I take in. As I drink water, I hold the Consciousness of taking the Living Waters of God Consciousness into myself, thus creating greater God Consciousness within myself.

Eating Consciously is not about the act of filling our stomachs. As I bless the food, and those who have lovingly prepared it, I am aware that the entire universe supports my existence. I experience the Miracle of Oneness. I feel no separation in Consciousness. Everything in form and formlessness are connected in the circle of Consciousness which supports Life. I am part of this flow. The glue which holds this all together is Love. If I eat in full Consciousness, I ingest Love, I ingest Source in every bite. This nourishes me not only in my physical body, but in all of my bodies, planes, and cells. I give thanks unceasingly as I eat. When I have completed a meal, I pray that all Beings experience the Truth of their Being as God. My mealtime experience is thus quite different when I eat Consciously.

http://www.goddirect.org/life/writings/november/eating.htm

Challenges: Being conscious when I eat EVERYTIME. I forget and can easily slip back into eating just for the sake of it.

Triumphs: It makes me so happy to be able to go to the internet and find such beautiful articles written by someone out there. Mmmm appreciation.

Suffering angel

Thoughts: I get emails from people who have had eating disorders, or have them currently, and from both females and males, that have caused them to be unhealthy and create dis-ease in their body. The Earth Diet is all about restoring love and nuture in the body by eating foods directly from nature. I want to share one of them today...named anonymous due to the request of the person. And first of all I want to acknowledge this person for having the courage to write this, and allow me to share it, so thank you for contributing!

"i AM FAT. My body if puffy and chunky. I have a huge butt that sticks out and giggles and I HATE MY BODY when it's not slim and lean and fit. I only feel good when I am fit. My belly is disguisting. It is puffy and giggly. My legs are short and stubby, full of cellulite, and make me look fatter than I am. I want to be thin and pretty with straight blond hair and NO PUFFINESS. I just have to accept it in order to be sane. My overall well being depends on it. I will never be good enough so why bother. I will never have the perfect body. I will never be the girl men dream of so there is no point. My skin is shit. My bowel is shit. I am full of shit which makes me toxic and negative. I am stuck in a vicious cycle that will never end. My bowel wont work because my mind is messed. And my mind is messed because my bowel won't work. I have spent thousands trying to fix the problem and it still hasn't changed. I am completely resigned to the fact that it will be like this forever. It's part of life. Suck it up and deal with it. Get over yourself. Quit being so absorbed and superficial. That's what I think. I feel huge and bloated and jiggly and puffy and fat. Nobody likes people that look that way. I want to be lean and muscular and fit and I want nice abs and a smaller butt and skinny legs. I need to work out every day and change my workouts regulary. Other people don't have to do that to stay skinny. It's not fair. I do everything right yet I still can't shed the pounds. I am not meant to be beautiful and perfect and will always struggle. It's just part of life I am convinced there is nothing I can do"

Challenges: Wow getting that people suffer. And how much it is prohibiting on a persons life. I had many similiar thoughts like this for my 5 years bingeing, and still I have some conversations about myself and my body that create suffering. Why do we do this to ourselves?

Triumphs: Creating this Earth Diet.

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Some organic grapes. Water with juice from a lemon. A nectarine, a pear.

Lunch: Yesterdays vegetables! Eggplant, brocoli, beans, tomato, zuchinni, onion, garlic, steamed with fresh basil and thyme! Chocolate balls with walnuts and macadamias! Recipe below!

Dinner: A salad with green lettuce, purple lettuce, spinach with avocado with lemon and olive oil dressing. Macadamias and goji berries and walnuts.

Dessert: No Dessert.

Snacks: A pear. Sweet sweet lichees!

Recipe: Chocolate balls:
Ingredients:
1. Cocoa powder
2. Agave syrup
3. walnuts
4. macadamias
5. water
6. almond or hazelnut meal

Directions: (Use your own natural human intuition for the measurements)
1. Mix the cocoa powder, almond/hazelnut meal together in a bowl.
2. Add agave syrup and water. Mix it together so you have a smooth dry consistency.
3. Add the whole or chopped walnuts or macadamias! MMM MMM!
4. Roll into balls and eat fresh, or put them in the fridge or freezer to eat them nice and cold :)

Day 77

Thoughts: My body has been craving salads and nuts and avocado and cocoa. I said to Steph "I have been eating too many nuts lately" and she shared "Let you body naturally crave those foods. Some days I love eating nuts, other days I don't feel like them". And what I got was that if my body is craving fruits or vegetables or nuts, it's craving the goodness, the nutrients from that particular food. Steph said "Some days I wake up and just feel like eating mangoes". And it's a good thing right, because it's not like my body is craving chemicals. If you crave chips, or chocolate or lollies, anything with artificalness, it's the chemicals you are craving. Do you have a chemical addiction? I honestly never thought it was possible to not crave chocolate and lollies, and take away foods and chips, and now I crave fruits and vegetables and salads and eggplant and avocado and nectarines! hehe! The more foods you eat directly from nature, the more you will flush the chemicals out of your body.

Challenges: Forgetting how far I have come and thinking "Oh I'm eating too many nuts". It used to be "I can't stop bingeing on red frogs and chocolate peanut clusters". Eating "too many nuts" seems like a good problem to have now, you know like it's a problem worthy of me.

Triumphs: Day 77...wow this is going to fast! It feels like I was on day 30 not long ago!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: 2 nectarines, macadmia nuts

Lunch: a beetroot, carrot, celery, ginger, pineapple juice.

Dinner: mmmm a beautiful vegetable feast...zuchinni, garlic, onion, beans, brocoli, tomato with fresh thyme and basil!!!

Dessert: chocolate balls!

Snacks: a nectarine and grapes and

Recipe: Fry zuchinni and garlic in olive oil. Add the rest of the chopped vegetables and herbs to the fry pan, put a lid on and steam them. MMMMM!

Exercise: In the morning Steph and I went for a long sweaty run on the beach and then a swim in the ocean mmm mmm the ultimate reward of the cool lush waves! Then at night we went for a "fun" run...hehe my fun run consists of cartwheels, jumps, sideruns, spinning in circles in run, power walking, star jumps, anything goes! And then we jumped in the ocean and I was feeling like a warrior-ess in my Northcliffe surf life saving swim suit (yes I am training to be a life guard woo wooo) so I dived in and ran out in the deep and then jellyfish wrapped their tenticles around Steph and I so we ran/swam as fast as we could back into shore with tingling body parts! Ahhhh! What a work out day :) Always up for something new! Hehe!

Thoughts: Today I had the best nectarines I have EVER tasted! I went to the organic supermarket and asked the food to call out to me. Might sound a little crazy hehe, try it next time you go, go to the apples and connect with them (think of Avatar hehe) and attract the apple that will provide you the most love and nutrients to you! It's so much fun, and it's just a game right :) Have a relationship with food and thank it for providing you with life!

Peaches and nectarines provide very good sources of carotenes, potassium, flavonoids, and natural sugars. They are good sources of lycopene and lutein. Lutein gives the red, orange, and yellow colors to fruits and vegetables. These phytochemicals are especially beneficial in the prevention of heart disease, macular degeneration, and cancer.

Challenges: No challenges today :)

Triumphs: Eating the most amazing nectarines I have ever had and thanking them for being alive!!!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Juice, beetroot, carrot, celery, ginger, pineapple.

Lunch: organic grapes. They are the best! I remember eating grapes like this off a vine when I was younger and haven't tasted ones like it since because I have only ever eaten supermarket grapes after that. When I held the organic grapes up they look like they came right off the tree, compared to the plump supermarket ones that look like they came right from the factory. 4 Necatarines and chocolate balls.

Dinner: Salad with avocado, lettuce, spinach and olive oil and lemon dressing.

Dessert: No dessert.

Snacks: No Snacks.

Cost: the nectarines from the organic store are $2 each compared to the supermarket which is around 40 cents each. And the organic nectarines were the best I have ever tasted! MMMM I felt like a queen eating them, so sweet and delicious ;)

Exercise: a run on the beach, a swim in the ocean and I went for a skateboard along the beach front. MMMM life is sweet ;)

Behind the scenes of the Lass by Leila Sweeney model shoot! www.leilasweeney.com

Thoughts: Loving your body. I used to hate my body and resist it. I would model when I was 17, and I was a size 8 and that still wasn't good enough. I saw myself as fat and ugly. What you resists persists. I resisted and I kept bingeing crap and put on weight and felt gross. I didn't appreciate my body, I never really got how cool it is to have a body, like a full body with ears and eyes and toes and a nose and legs and arms. No one ever told me, appreciate your body, if you didn't have it you wouldn't be moving around. So I took it for granted and completely trashed it with junk food for years. Now I get it's my temple and I am so grateful for it that I fill it with beautiful foods directly from nature with vitamins and nutrients. I want to feel healthy and energetic, sure if you want to feel tired and grumpy and fat then fill it with crap. It's that simple, if you want to feel good, eat good. If you want to feel crap, eat crap. I absolutely am in love with my body!!!

Challenges: Today I was feeling more tired and "weighed down" than usual. My old way of being would be too binge on lollies and chocolate, artifical sugars and chemicals to bring me up, thinking that the more I ate the more energy I would get. Today I got that it's not about the food, I was feeling bogged down because I was letting things build up, I had comitted to things that I kept putting off and it was affecting my energy. I find that the more I run from things, I don't actually leave them behind, they catch up and drain my energy and vitality....

Triumphs: So instead of eating more I dealt with what I had to do, and felt lighter and free. Facing stuff, the truth sets me free. In the past I would eat sooo much junk to escape from it, only to deal with the "eating way too much" thing later on, on top of the pile of other stuff.

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: 3 organic nectarines. Organic green grapes. Deviness.

Lunch: a beetroot, carrot, celery, ginger and pineapple juice. 1 avocado.

Dinner: A salad with green lettuce leafs and spinach with avocado and olive oil and lemon dressing

Dessert: some goji berries and macadamia nuts

Snacks: no snacks

Cost: I love eating necatrines for $2 each! Fit for a king.

Exercise: 90 minute Bikram yoga and holding poses for an afternoon! Yes modelling is counted as a work out! Hehe!

Thoughts: Terrified of the Earth Diet??? I believe it's a natural craving for a human being to want to be healthy and feel great and look hott! Why not right?!? Hehe so if you want to improve your health and scared of committing to the Earth Diet start with small steps. Even one step in the direction of health a day will make a huge difference!

Start with doing one thing differently a day. Start with the morning, start the day healthy! Have a juice, beetroot, ginger, carrot, celery, pineapple is my favourite! Or have an apple, grapes, nectarine...there are so many amazing fruits out there! Eat a totally organic natural earthy breakfast! Do this everyday and you will for sure feel a difference! I remember when I was bingeing, if I started the day eating chocolate or lollies or breads or processed cereals, then by the end of the day I would be extreme with unhealthy foods. I had the thought "Owell I started the day unhealthy I may as well finish unhealthy and I will start being healthy tomorrow." Haaa! So first thing is get your body chemically addicted to the good foods. I now crave fruits and salads and healthy foods. Mmmmmm! Processed foods look like death to me now. Lollies, chips, chocolates, they use to look so appealing to me. So start the day healthy and then if you want to eat your crap foods for the other 2 meals of the day do that. Do that for a couple of weeks and your body's chemistry will eventually change. Eat foods that are easy to digest.

Challenges: Eat foods that are easy to digest. I love nuts. I have been eating sooo many.....too many. Things could be worse...haha!

Triumphs: I now crave fruits and vegetables and salads!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Lemon juice in water blue. Blueberries 2 nectarines. A beetroot, carrot, celery, ginger, pineapple juice. Brazil nuts.

Lunch:Organic and free range chicken with honey and fresh rosemary mmm!

Dinner:Soup with orange lentils and broccoli and carrot and carrot and zucchini and garlic and beans and pumpkin cooked by an amazing earthling ;)

Dessert: No dessert.

Snacks: A pear. A lemon myrtle tea mmm so soothing and relaxing. Macadamia nuts, walnuts, goji berries.

Exercise: 1 hour bikeride into surfers and a swim in the ocean mmm

Thoughts: Are you sick of your body? Die to your old body. Death is just like walking into the next room. Sometimes we get stuck doing the same thing for tooooo long. I know because I was stuck in my bingeing world for 5 years! I was afraid of taking that step into my new world of health and dying to the old bingeing identity that I had created for myself. And when I created the Earth Diet I took that step into this new world. And now I love it! I got how I was ruining my body, my beautiful body. Most of us eat and we starve. We are malnutritioned. That isn't an "official" word...haha it is now! We eat more toxins than our body can handle and digest! Then we eat fruit and vegetables and the body does not absorb the vitamins and nutrition because our bowels are covered with so much sludge. It's time for a clean out people!! Eat pure foods and your body will start to get pure and real!

Challenges: No challenges today.

Triumphs: I love starting the day with a juice! Woooo!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Beetroot, carrot, pineapple, ginger, celery. Macadamia nuts. Goji Berries. 2 Nectarines.

Lunch: Salad, green lettuce, spinach, avocado with olive oil and lemon juice. Chocolate balls.

Dinner: Soup with pumpkin, carrot, brocoli, garlic, beans.

Dessert: No dessert.

Snacks: No snacks.

Exercise: Run on the beach and a swim mmmm ! Love living on the beach :)

Thoughts: Starting on a raw food diet....A Raw food diet is based on eating whole, live, nutritionally-dense organic uncooked and un-processed foods as a large percentage of your diet. When 75-100% of your total food consumption is raw food, you are a raw foodist. At that rate it is believed that your body's own elimination system can eliminate all or most of the toxins in the cooked portion of your diet. When you eat more cooked food you are eating toxins faster than your body canget rid of them so they back up causing dis-ease. Heating food above 118 degrees F. is believed to destroy valuable enzymes in food that can assist in digestion and health.

Cooking is also known to diminish the nutritional value of food, but where did the nutrients go? They don't diappear (see Dr. Jeckyl & Mr Hyde (below) -- instead, the heat actually causes chemical changes in your food creating many of the carcinogens, mutagens, free-radicals and other toxins that are associated with many of today's diseases, from diabetes and arthritis to heart disease and cancer.

Two common myths are that eating raw is expensive and that it takes a lot of time to prepare. Nothing could be further from the truth! I am one of busiest people I know (mostly answering emails from my readers)! But when you do it correctly, a raw food diet is actually one of the easiest, most convenient and most economical ways you can eat. Remember, raw foodists eat mostly organic food, which is usually 80% to 300% more nutritionally dense! As your body learns to absorb this additional nutrition, you be less hungry and actually eat much less, reducing your food costs well below what is was when you were eating empty calories filled with toxins that increase your health care costs. You can sign up to a raw food e-newsletter with helpful insights and recipes.... http://www.rawfoodlife.com/starting_on_raw.html

Challenges: No challenges today.

Triumphs: Since starting this Earth Diet I have learnt so much about food, the human body, nutrition. There really is so much information out there if we are open to it!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: a passion fruit and lemon juice in water. juice. A chocolate ball. Macadamia nuts. Blueberries. wow thats a big breakfast!!!

Lunch: 3 choc balls. salad with avocado and olive oil and lemon. I found a bug in my lettuce. I love finding bugs in my food. It means that there is no pesticides on the lettuce for the bug to survive. Mum always use to look for the fruit and veg with bugs on it at the supermarket! hehe

Dinner: Organic and free range chicken and free range with honey and rosemary mmm my favourite with lettuce and avo.

Dessert: No dessert.

Snacks: more choc with brazil nuts. blueberries. necatrines. uhhh i just realized I consumed alot of food today! wooo a machine! lucky I poop it all out and suck the nutrients.

Exercise: A pump class (at the gym with weights). dance in morning to wake up my body!!! Why do we get stiff from when we go to sleep to when we wake up?

mmmm loving the salads!

Thoughts: I did some more research on eating raw. It is facinating that we are the only animals on the planet who apply heat to our food! And I was thinking like who was the very first person to go oh here's some fire, and here's food, lets put them together and see what happens! And then my friend Leila said "Maybe there was a bush fire and then someone ate some cooked meat and was like mmm this is good!" Haha! So after reading that cooked foods is dead organic matter I have been thinking of going raw and sticking it out for a week.

So scientific evidence shows that raw vegan diets decrease toxic products in the colon (From: J Nutr 1992 Apr;122(4):924-30). Shifting from a conventional diet to an uncooked vegan diet reversibly alters fecal hydrolytic activities in humans, according to researchers, Ling WH, and Hanninen O, of the Department of Physiology, University of Kuopio, Finland. Results suggest a raw food uncooked extreme vegan diet causes a decrease in bacterial enzymes and certain toxic products that have been implicated in colon cancer risk.

Researchers have also found that a diet rich in raw vegetables lowers your risk of breast cancer, and eating lots of fruit reduces your risk for colon cancer, according to a study published in the May 1998 issue of the journal Epidemiology. Well do'h thats obvious!!!! Including fresh fruit as part of your daily diet has been associated with fewer deaths from heart attacks and related problems, by as much as 24%, according to a study published in the September 1996 issue of the British Medical Journal.

Excessive Heat Denatures Nutrients

Burn your finger and skin tissue dies. Overly apply heat to food and nutrients are progressively destroyed. Fresh food prior to wilting or rotting sustains life to a high degree of wellness. Harvested food from field and orchard provides raw materials to replenish your cells and tissues. Overly cooking food destroys live plant and animal tissue whose nutrients no longer bear any relationship to your living body. A diet containing an abundance of raw, unfired food maximizes well being.

The chemical changes that take place to individual nutrients, as excessive heat is applied will now be examined. It is well understood and recognized in scientific literature that heat breaks down vitamins, amino acids and produces undesirable cross-linkages in proteins, particularly in meat. When food is cooked above 117 degrees F for three minutes or longer, the following deleterious changes begin, and progressively cause increased nutritional damage as higher temperatures are applied over prolonged periods of time:  proteins coagulate,  high temperatures denature protein molecular structure, leading to deficiency of some essential amino acids,  carbohydrates caramelize,  overly heated fats generate numerous carcinogens including acrolein, nitrosamines, hydrocarbons, and benzopyrene (one of the most potent cancer-causing agents known),  natural fibers break down, cellulose is completely changed from its natural condition: it loses its ability to sweep the alimentary canal clean,  30% to 50% of vitamins and minerals are destroyed,  100% of enzymes are damaged,  the body’s enzyme potential is depleted which drains energy needed to maintain and repair tissue and organ systems, thereby shortening our life span,  pesticides are restructured into even more toxic compounds,  valuable oxygen is lost,  free radicals are produced,  cooked food pathogens enervate the immune system,  heat degenerates nucleic acids and chlorophyll,  cooking causes inorganic mineral elements to enter the blood and circulate through the system, which settle in the arteries and veins, causing arteries to lose their pliability,  the body prematurely ages as this inorganic matter is deposited in various joints or accumulates within internal organs, including the heart valves.

As temperature rises, each of these damaging events reduces the availability of individual nutrients. Modern food processing not only strips away natural anti-cancer agents, but searing heat forms potent cancer-producing chemicals in the process. Alien food substances are created that the body cannot metabolize.

For example, according to research performed by cancerologist Dr. Bruce Ames, professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of California, Berkeley various groups of chemicals from cooked food causes tumors: ï‚· Nitrosamines are created from fish, poultry or meat cooked in gas ovens and barbecues, as nitrogen oxides within gas flames interact with fat residues; ï‚· Hetrocyclic amines form from heating proteins and amino acids; ï‚· Polycyclic hydrocarbons are created by charring meat; ï‚· Mucoid plaque, a thick tar-like substance builds up in the intestines on a diet of cooked foods. Mucoid plaque is caused by uneliminated, partically digested, putrefying cooked fatty and starch foods eaten in association with protein flesh foods; ï‚· Lipofuscin is another toxin: an accumulation of waste materials throughout the body and within cells of the skin, manifesting as â€Å“age-spots”; in the liver as â€Å“liver-spots”; and in the nervous system including the brain, possibly contributing to ossification of gray matter and senility.

Challenges: Should I go raw for a week? hmmmmm I do love my cooked dead organic matter! Heheeee

Triumphs: I no longer think "Oh I can't eat that, that is not on the Earth Diet" because my diet now is so easy on the Earth Diet. I am craving fruits and vegetables and salads, something that I thought would never be possible. I don't even think about eating lollies and chocolates or anything processed, coloured, with additives. It's not even in my space and I love that!!! Wooo wooo!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: juice beetroot, carrot, celery, pineapple, ginger. a chocolate ball. blueberries. macadamia nuts.

Lunch: Steph made eggplant with zuchinni with onion garlic and tomatoe with herbs thyme and basil and coriander. mmmm mmmm!

Dinner: advocado with brocoli and cauli flower and garlic. I love eating avocado with everything! Hehe

Check out the organic avo to the regular. The organic avo is almost the same size as the regular avo seed! what are they feeding these avos? hehe super avos!!!

Dessert: 2 passion fruit

Snacks: no snacks

Cost: spent $36 at the organic store $14 on chicken. The organic chicken is sooo yummy! It has a different texture than the regular chicken. And it's totally worth the price because I am eating chicken without anti-biotics and hormones!

Exercise: Steph and I went for a run on the beach and then Steph dropped the car key so we went for another run to find it, we didn't find it, so we walked a bit into surfers and hitch hiked back to our house to get another key and go back to the car. Wow what a cool adventure for the start of the day! We went for a hip hop class at night time. and then 20 minutes ab work. 10 minutes dancing.

Thoughts: I ate raw today. Only raw foods. I feel alive when I eat foods that are alive. Then I thought if a food is cooked is it dead??? I did some research and discovered some interesting stories. Cooked food is dead organic matter that bacteria feast on. As a result, typical meals of protein, starches and sugars quickly ferment and putrefy.

Eighty million species on earth (about 700,000 of which are animals) thrive on raw food. Only humans apply heat to what they eat. WE ARE THE ONLY ANIMALS ON THE PLANET THAT APPLY HEAT TO OUR FOOD. Humans on average as a race, die at or below half their potential life span of chronic illness that is largely diet and lifestyle related. Domesticated pets also are fed cooked, processed, packaged food that likewise is denatured by heat. As a consequence, they suffer human-like chronic ailments including cancer, arthritis and other degenerative diseases.

The typical species in its natural pristine environment lives seven times past its age of maturity. Humans normally mature in their late teens to early twenties. Our average potential life span in robust wellness is actually in the range of 120-140 years. This is never actualized due to the effects of heating food and not learning to skillfully handle psychological stress through self-mastery (see Essentials of Health). Humans have been on earth for millions of years. Prior to mastering fire perhaps less than 10,000 years ago, humans thrived on a diet of nothing but fresh, live, unfired foods as furnished by nature in their whole unadulterated state.

Presently, humans apply heat to the bulk of their food day in and day out prior to consumption. Like eating ash from the fireplace, microscopic burnt nutrients are toxic. Slowly and silently as the decades pass, the harmful effects of consuming these toxins accumulate. Humans are biologically adapted to raw fresh produce Eating raw fresh produce as a staple rather than cooked food keeps your body vibrantly healthy at nearly any age.

Challenges: Eating my first raw soup.

Triumphs: Eating my first raw soup.

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: lemon squeeezed in water. A nectarine.

Lunch: A salad with lettuce and olive oil and lemon dressing with advocado.

Dinner: Steph made an amazing raw soup. So you make the soup and you don't cook it. Sounds weird, and it actually tastes amazing :)))) With pumpkin, celery, avocado, onion, garlic.

haha the soup doesn't look appetizing! more like fresh new baby poop, however it's totally raw and fresh and well blended :)

Dessert: No dessert.

Snacks: Chocolate balls!

Recipe: Raw soup. Chop garlic, onion, avocado, pumpkin, celery. Blend it in a blender. Add chilli

Exercise: A run and swim on the beach! We took our boards to the beach and there were no waves so we ran instead ;)

It was raining today so I collected some to drink with my pot!!!

Thoughts: I ate sooo much fruit today! And I loved it :) Fruit tastes so alive. I was once told that fruit has a lot of sugar and that if we eat a lot of fruit it's too much sugar for us, and it turns into candida (There is an earlier blog about candida). Have you heard of fruitarians???? They are people who only eat fruit! Fruitarianism is the practice endorsed by a very small number of people called fruitarians or fructarians of following a diet that comprises fruits, nuts and seeds, without animal products, vegetables and grains (wikipedia).

There are 9 billions cows on this earth. That's more than people! And check out the in-efficiency of it...1 acre of advocado produced 10,000 pounds of food in a year. 1 acre of bananas produces 24,000 pounds of food a year. 1 acre of cows produces 150 pounds of food a year. CRAZY. So it's 160 more times effecient to have bananas than cows.

Some people whose diet is not 100% fruit consider themselves fruitarian if their diet is 75% or more fruit.[2]

Some fruitarians will eat only what falls (or would fall) naturally from a plant; that is: foods that can be harvested without killing the plant. These foods consist primarily of culinary fruits, nuts, and seeds. According to author Adam Gollner, some fruitarians eat only fallen fruit. Some do not eat grains, believing it is unnatural to do so, and some fruitarians feel that it is improper for humans to eat seeds as they contain future plants, or nuts and seeds, or any foods besides juicy fruits. Others believe they should eat only plants that spread seeds when the plant is eaten. Others eat seeds and some cooked foods. Some fruitarians use the botanical definitions of fruits and consume pulses, such as many beans and peas or legumes, or pulses and legumes. Still further definitions include raw fruits, dried fruits, nuts, honey and olive oil, or fruits, nuts, beans and chocolate.

Motivation of being fruitarian:
Some fruitarians believe fruitarianism was the original diet of humankind in the form of Adam and Eve based on Genesis 1:29. They believe that a return to an Eden-like paradise will require simple living and a holistic approach to health and diet. Some fruitarians wish, like Jainists to avoid killing anything, including plants, and refer to Ahimsa fruitarianism. Some fruitarians say that eating some types of fruit does the parent plant a favor and that fleshy fruit has evolved to be eaten by animals, to achieve seed dispersal.

Interesting hey! Us human beings are so cool, and so funny and so interesting the things we come up with!

Challenges: When eating the fruit my "old" thoughts came in like "I shouldn't be eating all this fruit, it's too sugary, I should keep it simple, it will turn into candida and I will get bloated" and bla bla bla. It's funny how I have a certain thought for a long period of time and when Iam breaking that pattern or that thought, I can feel the pull between the new thought/belief to the old familiar thought/belief.

Triumphs: Looking at fruit in a new way. Eat as much of it as you want! It's all good!

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: Glass of lemon water. Nectarine.

Lunch: A feast of fruit! 2 nectarines, a bunch of cherries, lichees, and a pear.

Dinner: A salad with lemon and olive oil dressing with green lettuce and advocado and walnuts. I love the advocado with walnuts.

Dessert: Chocolate balls.

Snacks: No snacks.

Cost: I spent $18 on fruit :) Well worth it!

Recipe: Buy your favourite fruits and eat them!

Exercise: Walking around.

Day 68

Junk food is it worth it?

Thoughts: The idea is not to build up junk in your body, it's getting it out. Toxins out, nutrients in. It's easy to detoxify.

"A toxin is any element the body doesn't have a use for, like lead and mercury and hydrocarbons, and more mundane things like food colorings and hydrogenated fats," Haas explains. "These toxins are in just about everything we come into contact with: polluted air and water, pesticides in foods, and chemicals in shampoos and medications. We store them in fat cells, in the brain and in the nervous system." http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1608/is_11_18/ai_93009047/

Accumulating these inner poisons can lead to a wide range of symptoms such as sluggishness, fatigue, slow metabolism, poor digestion, skin disorders, headache or persistent coughing. (All of which, of course, do nothing to enhance your fitness regimen.) It may also increase your risk of arthritis, heart disease or cancer.

The quickest, safest means of minimizing your toxin load is to reduce your junk intake. Easy. STOP. Do it!!!

Junk food...is it worth it?

Challenges: Haha I learnt my lesson today when I ate chocolate balls before lunch! I had no other food in my stomach and chocolate balls seem to give me lots of energy and so I felt I had an overload of energy in my body, I was cleaning my surfboard and was very racy. It was like I was on speed and I've never done speed. I'm starting to feel the different energies in food and what happens to my body when I eat them.

Triumphs: Learning my lesson. Lunch before chocolate balls.

What I Ate Today:

Breakfast: a carrot. A beetroot, carrot, pineapple, celery, ginger juice.

Lunch: a nectarine. Chocolate balls with macadamia nuts. Free range chicken with honey and rosemary.

Dinner: green lettuce, rocket, spinach with advocado and sliced eggplant fried in olive oil with garlic, fresh basil and grazed with honey.

Dessert: chocolate balls.

Snacks: 3 Nectarines.

Cost:
lemons 69 cents
3 advocado $2.90
spinach $1.47
psyllium husks bulk 38 cents
almond meal $3.87
macadamia pieces $2.73
garlic $3.57
olive oil $14.39 500ml
